Our Curriculum

Our program consists of five levels where our students will work to meet the benchmarks set for them. Once those curriculum standards are met, the student will advance to the next level. Age is not a requirement for advancement and thus a student may move at his or her own pace as long as they meet standard and complete the curriculum. Here are the five levels.

The Super Rookies – These kids are under the age of 7, they are the siblings of the older students that are in the program. We provide this course of instruction instead of a babysitting service during regular program activities. These Kids are placed together to have fun and to start some very basic golf instruction. They will utilize coloring books, videos and games to learn:
  • Have Fun
  • Learn etiquette
  • Learn golf safety
  • Keep them and their parents engaged
The Rookies, students ages 7 – 17, that have little or no golf experience or exposure. They will be taught from our Tee-Lo Student Notebook and will immediately start training at the Tee-Lo Golf Training Center. In 6 weeks of attendance they should be able to do the following:
  • Know basic terminology of golf
  • Know golf etiquette
  • Start learning safety fundamentals
  • Know how to chip and putt
  • Be prepared to move up to Beginner status
The Beginners’ class, students ages 7 – 17, is designed for those students who have mastered the Tee-Lo Student Notebook and have minimal skills. To progress to the next class, a student must master the basic golf essentials such as etiquette, club handling, and golf terminology.
  • Pass the chipping and putting test
  • Have a basic understanding of the rules and etiquette of golf
  • Be able to hit shots from 50 yards
The Intermediate class, students ages 7 – 17, progresses to the advanced level after demonstrating the ability to perform in competition, significant improvement in golf skills and knowledge, and displaying leadership characteristics.
  • Be able to play golf from 100 yards in and make no more than double bogey on 3 consecutive holes
  • Learn Specialty Shots / Golf Techniques
  • Become acquainted with playing strategies
The Advanced class, students ages 7 – 17, must demonstrate leadership skills and characteristics and will be required to assist the Friday night instructor with class preparation, class demonstration, and instruction participation. The advanced students will rotate this responsibility on a weekly basis dependent upon the direction of the Instructor. Advanced students are grouped by their ability and/or previous scores with an adult Coach/Volunteer and are allowed to play either the front nine or the entire 18-hole course.
  • At least monthly be able to play 9or 18 consecutive holes from 150 yards and score no more than double bogey
  • Be familiar with specialty Shots / Golf Techniques
  • Full Swing
  • Playing Strategies
  • Be able to compete in the PGA’s Golf Drive, Chip and Putt Contest

Students must adhere to the following rules and regulations in order to participate. These are:

  • Proper dress code
  • Be on time to all activities
  • Think safety at all times
  • Respect yourself and others
  • Attend school regularly
  • Be drug free
  • Exhibit a positive attitude
  • Have a desire to learn
  • Always give 100%

How long has Tee-Lo Golf, Inc. existed?
Tee-Lo Golf, Inc. has been providing the junior golf program since 1999.
Who provides the golf instruction?
We have partnered with the Rick McCord Academy of Orange Lake Resorts and Orange County National to provide PGA Golf instruction. We also have several volunteer coaches that are experienced golfers who teach our students as well.
Do students also receive life skills instruction?
Yes! Monica Woods has been teaching our student life skills for over five years. Class is provided on the 2nd Friday of the month. Our students receive the following instruction:
  • Personal introduction skills for public speaking
  • Personal grooming
  • Table etiquette
  • Interviewing skills
  • Drug awareness education
She will also implement exercises that will help build self-esteem in our students.
How often/long is the program sessions?
Our program is divided into Session 1 and Session 2 each year. Our monthly calendar will keep you up to date. See the application packet for more details.
How much does the program cost?

Due to the continued support of sponsors, we continue to be able to provide our junior golf program for ONLY $100.00 (Yearly Registration).

What is the student age limit?
Our students are ages 7 – 18 years old. Children ages 7 years and under may participate with parental supervision.
